Switched-On Bach (Oscilliscoped)

Air on a G String (Oscilliscoped) from Ethan Goldhammer on Vimeo.

A certain company which I will not name took this off of youtube so I'm not going to credit the incredible musician who played this piece, because he/she doesn't seem to like people paying tribute. If I don't name it properly, they won't find it.

Oak Hill Sample

The first batch of footage I shot for the Oak Hill Cemetery DVD project in Woonsocket, RI.

For anyone confused, most of the flashes in the sky are airplanes or my flashlight(s). But there are a series of shooting stars from the Geminid Meteor shower that peak between 1:20-1:35 in this video.

Anything that looks like this or this is an airplane, not cosmic debris.

It's a little tough to make out everything that's going on in this shot, since the Geminids are competing with the closest and brightest full moon (or, one day removed from full) since 1993, and the closest it will be for the next 10 years. So this washes out most of the stars on the right, but the perfect rotation around the north star (to the right of the statue) is still pretty clear. A lot is lost from the light pollution coming from the city of Woonsocket, and compression for the web kills a lot of the fainter stars.

Smite your rod and come across.

Notice Orion's sword perfectly scrape the top of the gate house. The tip of the sword looks fuzzy because it's not just a star... it's a nebula.
